Hulu has established itself as one of the best and most popular streaming services around, rivaling even Netflix at times thanks to its expansive library. When it comes to horror movies, Hulu might even have a more diverse line-up than Netflix does, making it a great place to catch up on movies you missed or hidden gems.
This month, Hulu is the place to be for the Alien movies, especially ahead of the highly-anticipated premiere of Alien: Earth, which will air on FX and stream on Hulu. The following list highlights some of the horror movies we'll be watching this month on the streamer, along with a couple you can skip.

Prey (2022)
- Verdict: Watch
With a new Predator movie arriving later this year from Prey director Dan Trachtenberg, now is the optimal time to revisit Prey, the movie that helped to revitalize the franchise with a fresh and exciting new take.
Functioning as a prequel to the film series, Prey is set in 1719 and stars Amber Midthunder as Naru, a Comache hunter who ends up going head-to head with an alien hunter who targets humans. The central Predator in this movie is even more brutal than we've seen before, adapting fast to the various threats it faces until it comes up against the formidable Naru who does everything she can to take the creature down.

Insidious: The Red Door (2023)
- Verdict: Skip
Insidious: The Red Door was set up to be the final chapter in the long-running franchise. Lead actor Patrick Wilson, who starred in the first two movies, returned alongside his on-screen wife and son Rose Byrne and Ty Simpkins, to wrap up the Lambert family's story. Wilson even stepped into the directing chair for this one. But The Red Door falls very flat.
The Insidious movies have been declining in quality for years and the 2023 film left the movie on a lackluster note. You're not missing much if you skip it and there are already additional Insidious films in the works, so maybe one of the next ones can get things back on track.
Alien (1979)
- Verdict: Watch
Like the Predator franchise, Alien is so seeing a revival lately thanks to the recent blockbuster hit Alien: Romulus and the upcoming FX series Alien: Earth, which will be set before the events of the 1979 movie.
Alien: Earth is bound to have some easter eggs and references to the original Ridley Scott-directed movie and others in the franchise. Hulu is currently streaming the whole series so you can catch up before the show premieres. At the very least, it's always a good time to revisit the original.

Nightbitch (2024)
- Verdict: Skip
A black comedy film starring Amy Adams sounds like a great idea on paper, but Nightbitch fails in its execution. Based on a book by Rachel Yoder, the movie follows a struggling stay-at-home mom who starts to experience a strange transformation that leads her to act increasingly dog-like, though the movie toys with whether this is really happening to her or is all in her head. Nightbitch isn't the worst movie of 2024 by any means, but it's also very forgettable.
Infinity Pool (2023)
- Verdict: Watch
Neon has become an increasingly popular distributor in recent years thanks to hits like Longlegs and the Oscar-winning Anora, but one film that often gets forgotten about is the 2023 sci-fi horror flick Infinity Pool written and directed by David Cronenberg.
Infinity Pool has an awesome cast with Alexander SkarsgÄrd and Mia Goth playing some of their most twisted characters yet. It centers on a writer and wife on vacation who stumble into the area's strange and increasingly dark secrets.
